Bands That Should Re Emerge and Perform:::

lorelle: well i think the only band id love to see come out of hiding, would be danse society! that i pay for!
joshua: Yeah, that'd be cool
they're wonderful
Be funny if they did
and all they concerned themselves with was their "Society" period
lorelle: indeed, but id lay out a c note for that
joshua: lol
lorelle: that would be fantastic!
joshua: hahahahaha
that's my least favorite period of them
all those METAL guitars
ugh
lorelle: yeah its all about the Seduction Singles period first
ah gag no
just the heavy post punk
joshua: yeah, I know
lorelle: its all about the earlier stuff
fuck its brilliant
joshua:they really set the bar for so much
seduction
joshua: yes, but few were listening
lorelle: totally under rated!
joshua: indeed, they set the bar, but few took notice
lorelle: i mean "Somewhere"?
joshua: I know
lorelle: "Somewhere" is like
gob smacked
how the f did you come up with that?
joshua: Yeah, it's an amazing song
lorelle: it's too much
they just nailed it
the way they created ambiance
joshua: Help from the producer,
engineer, manager, etc all of which had a hand in their sound
lorelle: they just knew how to create space so wonderfully in such a way that even though the music is soooo FULLL!!!! there is space within
they mesh delicate and heavy perfectly
a song you can totally rock out too and yet cry also
joshua: yeah, it's playing now over here (Brooklyn)
LOUD
lorelle: that is the mission! how to create the dichotemy. thats the brilliance of them
joshua: his delivery is wonderful
lorelle: ok. shit i'll go in
joshua: the reverb guitars help
lorelle: uhm
and the bass
joshua: the bass is noise gated
and compressed
lorelle: its all about gaiting!
god bless the gait!
joshua: together it makes the sound
and and and he's playing with a pick
a triumvirate that adds up to 'his' or 'this' bass sound
lorelle: and then comes in the synth
that roving through the land sound
oh it kills me
its so sad
joshua: I think the synth could've been engineered better
lorelle: its like integrity or misfortune
joshua: though the melody is wonderful
lorelle: there is such an air of dispair in the song
but in the best way, like a rowdy cheer over the crowd
joshua: yeah
it's a complete track
lorelle: no flaws...
i dont even mind the engineering.
those shimering guitars
joshua: yeah, it's perhaps more the 'volume' they mixed the synth at
lorelle: and the drums with that switch switch sound
i love a song i can do the smack smack drum gesture with !
yeah i know
joshua: it's particularly up front
lorelle: then the piano sound
joshua: that, on the other hand
is mixed better
lorelle: oh the last moments of the song
joshua: yes
with its 'dub' mix
sound
very nice
lorelle: ah.... its what Faith No More tried to do and failed! ha
to bring it to the total other end
ha!
joshua: they didn't even KNOW to do this
lorelle: on that "Epic" song with the fish video
ha!
now to "Ambition"!
the drums rule!
joshua: yeah, but likely this sound was but a vague notion if at all

Introductions Please!

HELLO! . . .

LET'S CUT TO THE CHASE:
Many music blogs we visit consist of people posting files of albums substantiated with short blurbs and/or pertinent tidbits. But what happens after you have listened to these downloaded albums? What happens after you listen to any music in general? I should hope you engage fellow enthusiasts in some level of conversation or discussion about it, no?

Therefore, for your entertainment, and our own amusement, my dear friend Joshua and I  shall document something we have done since the get go of our friendship: dork out about music(!); whether it be our sentiments and feelings for what we love or, perhaps, an equal disdain for the pile of poop we recently discovered. I say dork out because in most friend circles there is inevitably this level of "dorkery," but we have always rather reveled more than dorked; for we are romantic fools and, admittedly, music dorks. Our dialogue(s) reflect the same level of enthusiasm we feel in the music and as a result, we've recognized an ever strengthening bond in our own friendship(s).

We are lovers of many different kinds of music, but we tend to focus on the post punk/indie/pop side of things, so at times some bands might be a bit obscure, focusing more on bands that never quite got the credit we felt they deserve; thus, more often than not, the  conversations will lean favourably on the shouders of these acts (unless of course, we're not into the group, then we're just really, really funny).

HOW DID THE TITLE COME ABOUT?
joshua: ...it's akin to a reissue of early 90s Paul Haig material
know what I mean?
good, but who cares?
lorelle: mmmm. thats a great name for a book
Good, But Who Cares?
joshua: hahaha
tru
e
lorelle: Thats totally the name of the blog!
joshua: wow
LOVE it
lorelle: Good, but who cares!

POINT?
Alas we're simply presenting a unique angle by which to appreciate the music we love. The posts will predominantly exist in the medium of IM banter which is how Joshua and I usually converse as we are "counter-continental" (meaning: opposing coasts of this country, which probably doesn't exist as a real term as much of my word speak at times doesn't, but it's real because we say so; So there!)

Music fans and lovers of commentary here we are! Thanks for showing up & listening in ... we make no pardon for stating how we feel and highly encourage commentary of equal interest and enthusiasm... Cheers!
Th' Moderator Dorks
